Carlo Leather Derby

The Carlo Leather Derby reimagines the lace-up Derby shoe with brogue detailing in a combination-material version—smooth-finish panels on the toe and heel, and suede-effect inserts on the side quarter and eyelet. The open-eyelet Derby construction differs from the closed-eyelet Oxford in its greater smart-casual versatility, allowing the shoe to be worn with a casual suit, a sport jacket, or structured chinos. The full wingtip brogue detailing—a perforated medallion on the toe, perforations along all seams, and a W-shaped cut—remains the defining detail of the category, without descending into decoration for its own sake. The tri-tone combination with three coordinated finishes draws on the tradition of mixed-material shoes in the tailored wardrobe, distinct from the two-tone spectator shoe worn for formal occasions. The low block heel and dark rubber sole maintain the proportions of a structured everyday shoe, rather than a formal dress shoe. The two color combinations—light brown with ecru and gray inserts, and dark brown with gray and camel inserts—remain within the color palette of natural materials found in the men’s wardrobe.
